Led by social workers, the program provides a safe environment where participants can connect, have fun and heal alongside other young people facing similar experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Held in Cornwall, the camp offers a variety of recreational and educational activities, including arts and crafts, horseback riding, swimming and sports. According to Laurie Murphy, President of Bereaved Families of Ontario, the camp is often the only opportunity these young people have to meet others who are coping with grief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interest in the program remains high. Many former participants wish to return as volunteers to support new campers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Heidi Poulin, Director and Summer Camp Coordinator, notes that volunteers are primarily nurses, social workers, psychotherapists and other mental health professionals dedicated to supporting young people and their families.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Club Richelieu Cornwall has donated $1,000 to Bereaved Families of Ontario to support programs for children and youth coping with the loss of a loved one.
