The Club Richelieu Cornwall held its Soirée canadienne Dondaine La Ridaine on Friday, February 6, a fundraising banquet that successfully brought together French-Canadian cuisine, joie de vivre, and a shared sense of purpose. A record number of guests savoured a refined culinary experience featuring beloved classics like tourtière and tarte au sucre. Three cordons bleus—Pierre Asselin, Gabriel Asselin, and Christian Barques—combined their expertise to create savoury gourmet dishes that evoked the timeless, comforting delights of grandmother’s cooking.
The evening was further enriched by the dedication of ÉSC La Citadelle teacher Leanne Bourdeau and her students, whose enthusiasm and hands-on involvement added a meaningful educational and community dimension to the gastronomic experience.
The evening concluded with an energetic performance by Nicolas Doyon et ses compagnons, a musical group acclaimed by critics in Canada and abroad. True masters of the stage, the musicians had the audience smiling from ear to ear, singing and tapping their feet throughout the performance.
The evening’s presentation in support of the pediatrics department was made possible through the generosity of loyal donors committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children facing unique challenges.
The Club Richelieu Cornwall is already preparing its annual Surf & Turf fundraiser, scheduled for Friday, June 6. Surf n’ Turf Benefit, prévu pour le vendredi 6 juin.
